Local Training

If you are a theatre student at Olathe South, the best place to study theatre is in one of our classes. There is no cost to enroll in a class at Olathe South. If you are still looking for additional learning opportunities outside of Olathe South, there are several options. The first would be to train with a professional theatre. The following theatres offer classes or training programs for students.
Coterie Theatre
Miller Marley School of Voice and Dance
Kansas City Shakespeare Festival
Kansas City Starlight Theatre

Ask Mr. Hastings for recommendations on voice teachers or dance programs.
The second option is all the pay-to-play programs around Kansas City. Many of these theatrical groups offer classes (acting/singing/dancing), but also produce full-length plays and musicals. These programs can be expensive, but they guarantee you a role in a show. For some students, this is a great option.

While no one can make you a star, pay-to-play programs offer you the chance to be onstage. Just make sure the cost is worth it to you and your family before you commit to these programs.
