Olathe South, troupe # 5006, is a proud member of the International Thespian Society. The International Thespian Society has been honoring excellence in the work of theatre students since 1929. For the 17/18 school year, Olathe South had 85students who were Thespians.
To become a Thespian, Olathe South students must earn 10 Thespian points. Any Junior Thespian can bring 5 points from middle school. Points are kept by Mr. Hastings based on The Official High School Thespian Point System. Students can look at their points during Power Hour in the scene shop (room 704). In general, students earn Thespian points for involvement with Thespian activities at Olathe South. This includes shows, Repertory and Advanced Repertory Theatre performances, or attending Thespian field trips (professional theatre in KC, Kansas Thespian Festival, International Thespian Festival.) New Thespian are recognized at the Thespian Celebration held each May.
Thespians meet the first Friday of each month during Falcon 50.
When a student has earned 10 points, they can pay $35 to join Troupe 5006 of the International Thespian Society. If you have any questions about Thespians, email Mr. Hastings, or stop by during Falcon 50.
